Abstract
Every process to set up a model of economic development is accompanied by deep changes in the socio-cultural, environmental and territorial sphere; mainly in the touristic sphere that differences from other because it is not merchandise but people who displace to consume the product in situ.
These changes are associated to the introduction of an element alien to the local culture, i.e., the tourist, who causes modifications in the economic structure, in the behavioral patterns of the local population and especially in the scale of values; as it is pointed out by Marie-Françoise Lanfant: “with tourism what is imported to a country are not tourists with their suitcases, but a society model (cit. in Cazes, 1992:98)”.
